SUMMARY
On August 9, 1995, a damaged cassette tape was recovered from Ranger Station 4,
an abandoned outpost located north of Pine Hollow Campground.
Station records indicate the building had been closed since 1987.
No electrical service was active at the location when the recording was made.
The tape contained approximately four minutes of audio, including radio static, short bursts of feedback,
and an unidentified voice warning the listener not to answer incoming transmissions.
No speaker was identified.
The source of the recording remains unknown.

ARCHIVIST NOTE — BRAINZ
The cassette was recovered beneath a loose floorboard inside Ranger Station 4.
Official records state the station was abandoned eight years before the recording date.
No active power source was found at the site.
The phrase "burn the map" appears again in later Pine Hollow materials.
